The Data Information Specialist is responsible for the management and maintenance of records to maintain compliance and data accuracy for all of New Horizons’ programs as needed. All New Horizons’ Staff are expected to study, practice and operate within the New Horizons’ Philosophy of Keeping Kids First. Duties and responsibilities
  • Keeping Kids Safe!
  • Follow the New Horizons’ Employee Handbook;
  • Assist the Quality Improvement manager in completing quarterly reports;
  • Set up and maintain files in Extended Reach and Gateway systems;
  • Enter documents into Extended Reach, making sure everything is current and up to date and assist Case Managers as needed;
  • Provide information for licensing and contract audits;
  • Set up training tracking and enter trainings for foster parents and staff, scan and upload training certificates in employee files in Extended Reach;
  • Track documents of newly placed clients. Audit client files to assure compliance.

Qualifications
  • Applicants must be at least twenty-one (21) years of age;
  • High School diploma/GED required;
  • Proven work experience in human services or a related field, preferred.  
  • Must be able to pass a DFPS and DPS and FBI criminal background check; TB test and Drug screen;
  • Ability to learn and willingness to gain information to sharpen skills and improve the accuracy and efficiency of the position;
  • An understanding of or the ability to acquire knowledge of Microsoft office, Microsoft 365, one drive, and Extended Reach Database Systems
  • Have a working knowledge of standard office equipment including but not limited to personal computers, internal telephone network, printer and scanner

Working conditions

Traditional office setting with some interaction with children in care.

Physical requirements
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to sit; stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up t0 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/ or move up t0 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
